Bourbon BBQ Sauce
Total preparation time: 2 hrs
Serves: 20Ingredients:
- 1 gallon KANSAS CITY MASTERPIECE (ORIGINAL)
- 8 cups DISTILLED WATER
- 2 cups APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
- 2/3 cup LIQUID SMOKE
- 1/6 cup CELERY SEED
- 1/6 cup FRESH GROUND BLACK PEPPER
- 1/6 cup KOSHER SALT
- 1 tablespoon POWDERED CAYENNE
- 1 cup JIM BEAM BOURBON…BLACK LABEL
Steps:
- Combine all of the ingredients except for the bourbon into an eight quart stainless steel sauce pan. Bring to a very slow simmer and stir frequently. After the sauce has reached a temperature of 165 degrees, remove from heat and add the bourbon. Stir in very well and taste. The only adjustment you may need is a little more salt, but I really doubt that you will.
Tis recipe is really enough for about 200 guests..
Please do not cut the recipe in half, Just get 200 friends instead!! ;>)
