General InformationOur northwoods lodge B&B is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Chequamegon Bay area on beautiful Lake Superior. We offer warm hospitality, quiet simplicity and full country breakfasts made with fresh ground grains and locally harvested fruits. Come to the Northwoods where year-round out-door activities abound. Your host's Mark and Kelly Illick would be happy to help make connections to your adventure. Second Wind is nestled in 35 country acres, perfect for a small wedding, a quaint family gathering, or a reunion with friends.

Second Wind is located just outside of the Ashland city limits. Just off Hwy 2 you will take Hwy 112. Go 1/4 mile south on Hwy 112 to Hwy 137. Go west on Hwy 137 1.5 miles to Whipperfurth Road. Take Whipperfurth south (left) to stop sign. Turn right (west) on Carlson Road, take second drive on the left (south). We are down a long winding drive. - Nearest major airport: MSP 200 miles

We enjoy being Innkeepers here in the northwoods. We also enjoy many seasonal activities here in our beautiful area including, whitewater kayaking, sea kayaking, floating the river, fishing, dog sledding plus watching sunsets and the Northern Lights. Kelly is a long time rubber stamper and dabbles in quilting and basket making when she's not in the kitchen or studying her cookbooks. - The innkeepers speak: English
