05/09/05 - My wife and I just returned from 5 days at the Atlantis House and could not be happier about our stay (unless it was longer.) Thanks again to Steve and Kayla for making this one of the best memories of our lives. My wife got teary eyed as we left. Also, thanks again for the personalized fishing trip Steve, and preparing our catch at the end of the day. The best time we have ever had, and the most delicous fish! Kayla, thanks for taking care of so many last minute requests. You went way out of your way to ensure our stay was perfect. The Honeymoon suite is so serene with its oversized jacuzzi tub and track lighting that it sets the mood right. The romance filled the air the entire stay. The short cab ride to duval street was perfect and kept us out of the way from too much noise when we returned at night. The Garden on the deck was tranquil and peaceful. We now have two friends in Key West and can't wait to go back for another visit. I would highly recommend this place to others.

We had a wonderful stay. Atlantis House is luxurious, private, with all the amenities and a beautiful garden. It is close to everything and Steve and Kayla are terrific hosts who are full of great ideas and recommendations. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommend it!

Atlantis House is the best kept secret in Key West. It has everything you could want on your vacation. On one side the action of Duval St, and then right across the street, the beautiful white sandy beaches of Key West. A bit of paradise that will keep us coming back for the third time next year!!! Thankx to our gracious hosts Kayla & Steve who can tell you where to go and what NOT to miss!!! It went beyond anything we could have imagined. Beautiful...a piece of paradise!!!!!!

My wife and I recently spent a couple days at the Atlantis House. What a fantastic place to stay, comfortable, peaceful, close to activities without being too close. Steve and Kayla were attentive yet left us plenty of privacy. They also had great tips for places to eat. We will definitely plan to come back next time we visit.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon (10 days) in Key West, at Atlantis House. What a luxurious vacation!!! The setting was so lush and private and the accomodations were even better than we had imagined from the photos and descriptions on the website! We enjoyed biking around the island and got lots of good restaurant, bar and activity suggestions from Steve. The very best thing (and there are many!) about Atlantis House is that it is NOT on Duval Street!!!! My husband and I were thankful every day that we were staying "off the beaten path" so to speak. Even during the "off" season, Duval Street is hectic and cluttered. It was great to take a short bike ride to dinner or to people watch but we were always happy to return to the quiet oasis that is Atlantis House:-) Needless to say, we highly recommend it!

What a fantastic place to stay, from eating breakfast on the deck or relaxing in the evening sitting in the gazebo you can't go wrong. A large glass shower, a huge jacuzzi tub and skylights just add to the romance. Steve and Kayla can provide you with all the information you need about Key West and what to avoid. We had them set up a jet ski tour of the island and a dive trip and had a great time on both. The pictures don't do it justice especially at night with all the landscape lighting. The house is withing walking distance to public beaches and if you want you can walk across the street and down a walkway to a natural beach (thats how close you are to the ocean !)and it's only about five minutes by car to all the action on Duval Street. We spent five nights in the Master suite in late January 2005 and loved every minute of it.

Absolutely no reason to stay anyhwere else in Key West, would be our primary recommendation on the Atlantis House. Hospitality of our hosts Steve and Kayla is second to none! We have visited Key West several times, made comparisons with other accommodations, and have not been able to find anything remotely comparible to the Atlantis House in terms of amenities, beauty, convenience, hospitality, and value. This February was our 5th visit with Steve and Kayla and we are looking forward to #6! We could write on indefinitely with positive comments about the place if space permitted.
We give Atlantis House "Four Thumbs Up"!

Both suites open out through French doors to a private 700 sq. ft. deck where you will find lounge chairs for sunning and outdoor tables and chairs for alfresco dining. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with exotic plant and coral rock gardens around a breezy little, vine covered gazebo. For your convenience, there is complimentary off street parking and wireless internet on the property.As you sit on the deck enjoying your morning coffee surrounded by lush tropical gardens that look out to a 15 acre indigenous park and wildlife reserve, often you can see an array of native and migrating birds from hummingbirds to eagles and falcons. Steve's passion for gardening is apparent with his unique collection of orchids, air plants, bromeliads, cactus and other succulents. Key West Aloe is abundent here and is prized for it's medicinal properties. Since aloe propigates and travels so nicely Steve loves to offer our guests a Key West aloe plant to take home as a living memory of their stay.
The Master suite, which is approximately 600 sq. ft., has a king size bed, 17 ft. vaulted ceilings, ceiling fans and recessed lighting all on dimmer switches, cedar closet, central A.C., wet bar, large wrap around bar with bar stools, tiled floors throughout, VCR, CD, DVD player, DMX music system with a choice of 40 channels of 24 hour commercial free music, wet bar area, fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker, all necessary utensils, and oversized 10 x 16 bath featuring a 9 ft. vanity with double sinks over which hang Baroque framed mirrors, separate lighted make-up vanity, separate water closet, spacious clear glass shower and a large private in-room Jacuzzi tub.The Master suite features one of the largest baths (10x16)on the island with a 9 ft. vanity with double sinks over which hang Baroque framed mirrors, separate lighted make-up vanity, separate water closet, spacious clear glass shower, and best of all...
...a huge Private In-room Jacuzzi tub. Above the tub is a large 18 sq. ft. skylight that, during certain times of the year, frames the full moon perfectly! On either side of the tub, there are two antique crystal grape cluster wall sconces that create the perfect atmosphere and romantic lighting. The décor is eclectic and accented with antiques from the Nouveau, Deco and Retro Scandinavian periods.The Garden suite, at 350 sq. ft., is romantic and charming. As you enter the suite through Fench doors, you are greeted by an inviting daybed in the living area that is covered with comfy, overstuffed pillows and over which a cranberry tulle netting is suspended creating a romantic, tropical ambience. Perfect for an afternoon nap! There is a corner baker’s rack with a portable Sony CD/cassette/radio unit, selection of CDs, cable TV as well as a collection of books. Raw muslin drapes and a collection of gold gilt mirrors surround a sunny windowsill.
Beyond the pass-through that separates the living area from the sleeping area, is a comfy queen size bed with Jamaican wicker nightstands on either side, a wet bar area with fridge, coffee maker, mico-wave, utensils, plates and other necessary items.The bedroom opens into an 8 x 10 tangerine bath that is tiled from floor to ceiling and utilizes a unique design that has a open shower with bench, 9 ft vaulted ceilings, an 18 sq. ft. skylight, separate water closet, glass block inserts, vanity area and, of course, a large Jacuzzi tub for two.
Atlantis House was the recipient of the Mayor's Award for the "Cleanest Greenest Business" in Key West, the 1st guesthouse in Key West to receive this award and are the current 2007-2008 Award recipient for "The Best of the South" from Bedandbreakfast.. Atlantis House is also in the process of being certified by the Florda Green Lodging Association.
