General InformationThis new BnB is ideally located within minutes from Kona town and airport at 2000 ft elevation, where the average temperature is in the mid-seventies year-round. Our ranch-style house has smooth, warm bamboo hardwood floors, is insulated for sound throughout, and all doors and trim are of Mahogany. Our four guest rooms are named after Hawai'ian marine animals. One has two extra long Twin beds, and the other three have Queen Size beds (these three rooms have in-suite private baths). Three have six foot patio doors to their Lanai, and one has Mountain/Garden View with private Lanai and entrance. All rooms feature ceiling fans, teak Island Furniture, and the best bedding available. Our Activity Room has the guest fridge, microwave, toaster, board games and a small library. Our Living Room has TV, VCR and videos, a FREE guest computer and very fast internet connection (we also have free Wi-Fi). Guests can also use the washer/dryer (small fee). Guests may use frre our BBQ kitchen, with gas grill, lights, and sink. Our Breakfast Bar has lots of good "Continental Plus" stuff, like 100% Kona Coffee, teas, juices, tropical fruit, muffins, toast, cereals, etc., but six times per week Hans also serves his famous hot farm-style breakfast. After comfortable and peaceful nights, enjoy the morning on your Lanai. There, overlooking our 3200 tree Kona Coffee farm, you can take in our spectacular ocean view while munching your banana-macadamia nut pancakes and star fruit filled papaya boat. See miles of coast, check out the surf line, count the boats, or use our binoculars to watch the birds, among them wild turkeys and the endangered and regal Hawaiian Hawk. Then drive off to your day of diving or biking, Volcano watching or golfing, deep sea fishing or kayaking. Shop and dine in Kona, explore historical sites or quaint artist villages Holualoa and Hawi. Come back to "talk story", have a drink seated on the lanai, and be awed by our miraculously colorful mango sunsets.

- Nearest major city: Kailua-Kona, HI (4 miles SW down the road)
- Directions to property:
From Kona Town: Leave town going EAST ( uphill) on Palani Drive (that's the continuation of Ali'i Drive). Stay on Palani Drive (Hwy 11) for about 5 miles, until you pass Matsuyama Store and the well lit 76 Gas Station (the only one on the road). Then turn Right into our driveway, as described below. - Nearest major airport: KOA 3 miles
- Directions from airport:
After getting your car and meeting the Highway (# 19, Queen Ka'ahumanu), turn RIGHT ( South) towards Kona. Within half a mile, you come to the first Traffic Light. Go LEFT on KAIMINANI Drive. Stay on it (about 3.5 miles) until it ends (you'll be going uphill through the "Kona Palisades" area). Kaiminani ends on Mamalahoa Highway. Go LEFT ( North). Before you turn, you'll see a 76 Gas Station on your right. That's the "landmark" Matsuyama Store.
Going NORTH (Left) on Mamalahoa Highway for no more than 500 yards, you'll see two concrete driveways next to one another on the Right (Mountain, Mauka) side. The left or second one is 16 ft. wide and is ours. Turn RIGHT into the 2nd (left) driveway--it is new and turns from concrete to asphalt half way up. Stay on it all the way to our house -- for about 2500 feet. Stop at the house to unload. The Parking Lot is above in the house. - Meeting places:
Innkeepers- Innkeeper(s): Hans and Marsha Eckert
When, after 20 years of visits, we decided to settle in Hawaii, we named our 8 acre Kona Coffee farm after Marsha's ancestors, The Lymans, who came to the island as Missionaries in 1832. We cleared the virgin land, planted 3200 coffee trees, and built the house. We are enthusiastic divers, love to bike, hike, & be one with nature whenever we can (and are not sitting behind our computers or on the tractor). - The innkeepers speak: English, French, German
- There is one cat on the property
