General Information

This stately home was built in the 1840's at the height of the Classical Revival Period. The stone cornice is unusual and tradition has it the bricks used in the facade were brought from Baltimore. The remaining bricks were made in a foundry in the basement. The Fullerton Family purchased the home a few years later and brought with them the exquisitely carved Federal Mantle in the home's parlor. The home stayed with the Fullerton's for the next 150 years. Being passed down through the women of the family- "Fullerton, Day & Dick". During the 40's the home was turned into three apartments. Bill Hirsch bought the house in 2002. Restoring it to its original floor plan. It opened in July, 2003 as the, "Atwood House Bed & Breakfast". The house is furnished to reflect the style of the times. Handmade oriental rugs adorn the Northern Pine floors. Walnut, Cherry and Mahogany antiques are used throughout the house. Converted gas Chandeliers hang in the parlor, Dining Room and Ballroom. A collection of Blue & White, and Rose Medallion China grace the breakfronts. THe owner's Presidential Memorabilia appear throughout the house. The Atwood House welcomes you to come and visit.
