Those guests wishing to take a garden stroll or watch the sunrise before breakfast can help themselves to coffee and tea at 7:00 a.m. in the front foyer. The fifteen miles that separate Castine from Route 1, the main tourist artery along the coast, shield the town from the frenzy that many coastal towns experience during the summer. At the same time, its central location in the Penobscot Bay area makes Castine a perfect base for exploring a widely diverse section of the Maine coast.
The Castine Inn is the ideal location for special occasions. The Inn and its garden offer a warm and elegant, yet simple atmosphere in which to celebrate with family and friends. The nineteen guest rooms, including three suites, are located on the second and third floors of The Inn. Each room is furnished either with one queen bed, two twin beds, or a king bed and all offer a private bath. Our rooms range from a quaint, Maine Island style to Simply Elegant.
Upstairs on the second and third floors, nineteen guest rooms with private baths lay on both sides of the wide halls. The suites include an adjoining sitting room in which a couch can open to a double bed to accommodate up to two additional guests. Many of the Inn's rooms afford guests beautiful views of the Inn's garden and the placid Castine harbor.
