    • Directions to property:

    Airport

    • Albany, NY (ALB-Albany County)

    • Directions to property:
There is a closer airport located in Lake Clear/Saranac Lake. It is a bit more expensive to fly into that airport but it's only 15 minutes away whereas Albany is located 2.5 hours south. Directions from Albany: - Take I-87 (Northway) north to Exit 30.  - Pick up Route 9 north and follow it for two miles to Route 73.  - Continue on Route 73 for about 28 miles to the Lake Placid region.  - When you see the Olympic ski jumps on your left you will bear left onto Military Road (there is a sign to Saranac Lake there).  - At the end of Military Road you will turn left on to Route 86 (again there is a sign to Saranac Lake).  - When you get to Saranac Lake take a left at the second traffic light. - Heading south out of the village of Saranac Lake at the traffic light next to the Town Hall (on your right), go thru the light and over a small bridge, immediately turn left.  - Continue about a mile and bear left (at the Glenwood/Kiwassa split).  - You will bear left again at the tree with many name signs. - We are at the dead end of the road, #1150. The house numbers were recently changed (for 911 purposes) and the old house number was 303. Either way, we are at the dead end.

We have been travelling to the Kiwassa Lake Bed and Breakfast for over 5 years. It is without question our favorite vacation destination. The accommodations are wonderful and the environment is welcoming, comfortable and peaceful. All guest rooms are beautifully decorated in Adirondack style and very comfortable. The B&B is situated at the shore of Kiwassa lake, with access to numerous other lakes without leaving the water. Opportunities abound for kayaking, hiking, boating or just doing nothing and relaxing. Margie and Cliff are incredibly gracious and attentive hosts. Book your stay now, you will not be dissapointed!

If you are looking for peace and tranquility and enjoy nature at its best, then Kiwassa Lake B&B is the place for you. Margie & Cliff, their son Doug, and dog Laney are perfect hosts and made us feel welcome the moment we arrived. We spent 5 very comfortable nights in the Pike room which had a beautiful view of the serene lake and surrounding wooded countryside. Margie made us delicious breakfasts every day and she and Doug were very helpful in providing information on the area. Their dining and other recommendations were perfect for us. We enjoyed sitting by the lake, watching all the hummingbirds and other birds at their many feeders, and seeing and hearing the Loons. A new and thrilling experience for me was a ride over the Saranac Lake area in their seaplane. A special thank you to the Cochrans for sharing their wonderful home with us. I enjoyed our conversations and felt sad leaving our new “friends”.

My wife and I stayed for three nights and it was a great experience. Marjorie, Cliff, and Lanie were great. The views are great...lakes and surrounding mountains. I would highly recommend taking a boat ride to the other connecting lakes where this B and B is located. The room (Eagle) has great views onto the lake and the breakfast each morning, well you couldn't ask for anything better. Kiwassa Lake isn't as busy as some of the other surrounding lakes, which makes it an ideal getaway

    Peaceful & tranquil getaway!

A warm & inviting environment, each room/suite is decorated so nicely and spotlessly clean. The layout of the beds in Pike & Eagle rooms are situated so that you wake up to a view of the Lake that is absolutely beautiful. Margie's breakfasts were all delicious and she is such a gracious and friendly innkeeper. My husband was able to launch & dock his 16' boat that we trailed right in the front of the property. Although we ran into a rainy & chilly week, he managed to catch large & small mouth bass and pike in Lake Kiwassa and Oseetah. We will try our best to return to this wonderful B&B!

Would come back over and over!!

We were looking for a nice but affordable place in the Adirondacks to "get away" together and we found Kiwassa Lake B&B! The place was secluded enough for my outdoors-man husband but close enough to the town of Saranac Lake and Lake Placid to suit my need for civilization. The views from the rooms are incredible! (Owner let us peak in on all the other rooms) Breakfast was amazing, owners were so friendly and kind, and we really didn't want to leave! Can't say enough about it!
