Breakfast Cassarole: Main Dish

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 lb sausage

  • 10 bread slices

  • 10 eggs

  • 2 cup milk

Step 1:

Cook about ¾ pound sausage and dice into small pieces. Grease a 9 X 13 inch pan. Break 8 – 10 slices of bread into small chunks. Stir 8 – 10 eggs in a bowl and stir in 2 cups of milk.

Step 2:

Layer the following ingredients in order: On the bottom, spread chunks of bread evenly over the pan. Cover bread with pieces of cooked sausage (or a variation could be ham). Layer grated white American (or cheddar) cheese (approx. 1 cup). Pour the egg and milk mixture evenly over the entire pan.

Step 3:

Cover pan with foil or lid and place in refrigerator for several hours (overnight is best).

Step 4:

Bake for about 55 minutes at 350 degrees.
