Family Fun Festival

Self-guided tour Highlights a small town festival that is superb. Ridgeway Cantalope Festival in Warren county presented by the Ridgeway Historial Society and the Ridgeway Fire Department celebrates the history of their famous vine ripened fruit. The annual festival on rte 158, 5 mi north of Lamplight Inn, a country bed and breakfast, runs from 10 am till 4 pm. You will find tons of craft booths, historic displays, kiddie rides, a stage featuring local entertainment, food and, of course, cantalope. The self guided tour suggests that you visit the festival first then go on to Warrenton for lunch at the Hardware Cafe and join Bill and Jane at Wyndam House Antiques at 1:30 pm for a talk about antiques. There's time to relax at the Inn before supper at the historic Middleburg Steak House and then you should wind up the day with a visit to the Ridgeway Opry House for good old country music.

Traveling With Your Pet Packages

Pet Lovers--Five acres allows plenty of room for you and your pet to feel at home. The dog run is about 450 square feet for them to run and play. Cat owners are invited to stay in the cabins. There are 3 resident cats but they do not use any of the guest areas and are accustomed to visiting dogs, they stay out of the way.
Pets cannot be left in any room unattended
unless they are crated.

Nature is calling! A day in the country is worth a month in the city and it is such a delight to hear the birds as they welcome each day. The big old trees and the barns on the farm give the birds a home and the bird baths, feeders and bird houses enhance their environment. Lamplight Inn is on the NC Birding Trail.
Recycling and compost are, of course, ongoing efforts to maintain and preserve our environment. There are over 2 dozen flower beds to invite the butterflies and beautify the grounds and rain barrels supply the water.
Environmentally sensitive amenities are in each room and the bed linens are changed every 3 days on any extended stay unless requested otherwise.
Instant hot water at the beverage bar and energy star appliances throughtout help to save precious energy.
Preserving old buildings saves the environment in itself and this 1850's home is surrounded by 15 barns that are historic wonders with mini-museums,corn-crib screened gazebo and barn porches for your relaxation and enjoyment.
The lighting in the Inn is all in hurricane lamps and the natural glow willl enhance your full breakfast.

Enjoy the intimate Victorian Parlor, the perfect setting for meeting friends, old or new, afternoon tea, cozing up by the fireside or curling up with a good bookFeel like royalty in the Regal Room with the exquisite headboard of silk squares that covers the entire wall. The elegant king bed is flanked by crystal lamps with etched globes and the bath has a whirlpool tub for a totally pampered feeling.
You will feel like you are floating in the clouds with the angels in the Heavenly Haven room with it's soft shades of blues and the soft down king bed. The oversized shower is lighted with glass block of blue and the old claw foot tub is accented by an old wash stand updated for your pleasure.The nostalgia of Gone With The Wind will re-kindle romance in the movie setting. The iron queen bed looks out at the images of Scarlett, Rhett and Mamie under an impressive ruby red crystall chandelier and Emerald green drapes with sea green valances and long gold fringe.
