At Applesauce Inn, we pride ourselves on casual comfort with all the amenities. Featherbeds, Fireplaces, and interesting conversation are just the beginning!

The Inn is close to Shanty Creek Ski Resort, the Jordan River Valley and the Grass River Natural Area's cross country ski trails. A 1/2 hour drive gets you to Traverse City or Boyne Ski Resorts.

  • Check in time is 3pm and Check out time is 11am
  • Cancellations:
    Seven days in advance for refund of deposit. Shortened stays and early departures are considered cancellations. In the event of late cancellation, deposit may be forfeited. All cancellations are charged a processing fee.

From I-75 North: Follow I-75 North to M-72 West exit at Grayling. Follow M-72 West to US 131 North at Kalkaska. Follow US-131 North to M-88 North at Mancelona. Turn North (Left) onto M-88 and follow 6 1/2 miles. Inn is on the left about 1 1/2 miles past Del Mason Road.

    From M-72 East or West: North on Hill Road at Skegemog Lake Scenic Turnout. At stop sign, turn left onto County Road 597 (Rapid City Road). Follow through Rapid City and Alden. Turn left in Alden onto East Torch Lake Drive (Alden Highway). Follow Alden Highway five miles through the "S" curves past Grass River Natural Area and turn left on Comfort Road. Follow Comfort Road 1 1/2 miles to stop sign at M-88. Turn right and go up the hill, house is 3/4 mile on the right.
