General Information

Kulaniapia is situated on 22 lush tropical acres. Enjoy our private 120 ft. waterfall just 15 minutes from downtown Hilo. Enjoy Kulaniapia Falls, or stroll along the powerfull Waiau River to the Bamboo Garden and enjoy a pavillion that cantelevers over the river with views of our triple tiered waterfalls. Built specifically as a country Inn, our guest enjoy seperate entrances to their guest rooms, comfortable sitting areas, private balconies that overlook the ocean and our waterfall and private baths entirely finished in Itallian marble. Our rate includes a full breakfast with eggs cooked to order, fresh tropical fruits, breads, cheeses, juice, and plenty of our own brand of "Hilo Side" coffee.

    Our Pagoda Guest House is a one bedroom house built on a cliff overlooking our 120 ft waterfall. Quiet, seculuded, and private. This unit has its own Kitchen, dining room, and computer/workstation plus 1 full bath and 1 1/2 bath. $175 for a party of 2. Add $25 for each additional person up to a max of 4 adults and 2 children

Continue Through downtown to the last traffic light (Wainuenue) and turn left. Go one block and turn right at the next street (Keawe). Go over the bridge and turn left (Ohai). Continue one block to the stop sign. From this point it is four miles to the Inn. After the stop sign continue 1 mile to the next paved road and make a left (Maikalani). Continue on Maikalani 1 mile to the Kulaniapia sign. At this point the road goes up through the middle of 2000 acres of Macadamia Nut trees. Follow the signage to the Inn. There are no street lights from the stop sign to the Inn (4 miles), so if at all possible, it would be best to arrive during daylight hours on your first visit. From Hamakua (highway 19) – Exit into Hilo at the sign. You will be on Wainuenue. Go one block to Keawe and turn right. Follow directions as above to the Inn.
