Double Chocolate Oatmeal Cookie

- 1 1/2 cup White Sugar
- 1 cup Butter
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups Flour
- 1/3 cup Powdered baking cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 3 cups Old fashioned oatmeal
- 6 oz Semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup Pecans
Steps:
- We found this recipe on a Quaker Oats box long ago. Start by pre-heating oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix white sugar, butter, egg, water and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Then mix flour, powdered baking cocoa, baking soda and salt in a separate mixing bowl.
- Add flour mixture to bowl with sugar mixture and combine until well blended. To this dough add old fashioned oatmeal, semisweet chocolate chips and pecans, mix well.
- Chill finished dough mix for one hour. Roll dough into balls (about 2 Tablespoons per ball) and place on no-stick cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Be sure to have plenty of cold milk on hand when serving.
