Tryon Palace Candlelight Tour Package

Available for the weekends of December 11th & 12th and December 18th & 19th.

Come spend a magical time in New Bern for the Holiday Season. Stay two nights in the room of your choice (**Turret Room $10 extra per night) and enjoy the hospitality of Howard House by joining us for our social time in the parlor each evening, homemade desserts available as you return from dinner and a full gourmet breakfast each morning. Package includes two tickets to Tryon Palace Candlelight Tour on Saturday night from 5:00-9:00, we will set your reservations. Step back in time for a memorable evening in colonial New Bern during the year 1770. Governor and Mrs. Tryon are hosting a "Grand Entertainment and Ball" to celebrate the completion of the palace and the birthday of King George III. The grounds are illuminated and filled with entertainers and a spectacular fireworks show ends the majestic evening on the south lawn! Awaiting in your room, an assortment of Christmas goodies and a take home original 2009 New Bern Christmas Ornament by local artist, Janet Francoeur. Enjoy finishing your Christmas shopping in our local shops within walking distance of the house.

New Years Eve Package

Stay New Years Eve in the room of your choice and kick back and relax. Waiting in your room will be your 2010 party Gift Basket. We will have a special social time with wine & cheese and and a variety of holiday hors dovers. Toast to the New Year before you go out for the evening! Included in the package, button providing entry to all New Years Eve functions associated with First Night Celebration in downtown New Bern. Dinner reservations and Dinner Gift Certificate ($50 value) to Historic Harvey Mansion or Chelsea Restaurant. Walk to the park to enjoy the fireworks ending First Night! Half a block walk to return to the B&B and enjoy homemade desserts and at midnight enjoy a toast in your room with chocolate covered cherries. Sleep in a little, we will be delaying our breakfast time to 9:00am on New Year's Day. Provided will be a full gourmet hot breakfast in the dining room.

Our large parlor offers a cozy fireplace and comfortable area for our guests to read, converse, play games, enjoy the paino or guitar, listen to soothing music or just relax from a full day of activities around town. Complimentary wine, cheese and snack tray are provided in the afternoons. As the sun sets on this historic town, homemade desserts and coffee are provided in the parlor and can be enjoyed on the front porch swing with a view of the river.A full gourmet breakfast awaits you each morning in the gracious formal dining room at a specified time convenient for our guests. The affair begins with a fruit appetizer, your choice of juices, fresh ground coffee and teas. A hot egg dish and sweet dish is served daily and may include Bacon Omlet Baskets and Strawberry Stuffed French Toast! Great conversation around the table and wonderful food.....what a great way to start the day!
The "Turret Room" romantically decorated in plums, rose and neutral colors. This exquisite guest room features a five-sided turret with stained glass windows and a view of the Neuse River. All of our guests rooms are large with comfortable bedding, sitting areas, phones, TV's and private bathrooms. All five guest rooms are decorated individualy with period antiques, family heirlooms and oriental rugs. "Victorian Cottage Room" Enchanting private guest room decorated in gold, greens and neutral colors. This large guest room has a private entrance with plenty of solitude! The sitting area includes an overstuffed chair, ottoman, desk, table and chairs. Large private bath with wardrobe and sit down vanity dresser. Hide away from the world, relax and be pampered at the Howard House!
