Located in the Pittsfield’s Downtown Historic District, The Thaddeus Clapp House is a fully restored bed and breakfast mansion on the National Register of Historic Places. The Thaddeus Clapp House has a Three Diamond AAA rating and is Frommer's Recommended.

Our guests are pampered with the refinements of the 19th century, yet the comforts of the 21 century. The guest suites are very spacious and luxurious, containing either queen or king beds, with either a sitting room or formal living room, a fireplace and private bath. A complimentary full breakfast is served each morning.

The Pittsfield Historic District is filled with stately homes and is a wonderful place to take a stroll. Within walking distance is the Berkshire Museum, the magnificent Colonial Theatre, the Barrington Stage Co., several art galleries and antique shops. Scrumptious food is available at many of the local restaurants and some are within walking distance. A few miles driving either north or south are Tanglewood, The Mount, Arrowhead, Shakespeare & Company, The Clark, MASSMOCA and the Hancock Shaker Village, just to name a few. There are ski resorts, hiking, biking trails, and lake/boating recreation all within the Pittsfield city limits.

    Cancellation Policy: 15 days notice is required November 1 thru June 30; 30 days notice is required July 1 thru October 31. A $50 cancellation fee is charged for all cancellations. Refunds may be pro-rated based on room re-booking.
