Perfect Margarita

Total preparation time:  < 10 min
Serves:  4

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 can Frozen Concentrated Lime Juice 12 oz
  • 6 oz Herradura Reposado Tequila (aged tequila)
  • 6 oz Controy Licor de Naranjas (or Triple Sec)
  • lots of ice - chopped ice is faster
  • 6 oz warm, not hot, water
  • Margarita salt
  • Fresh Mexican Limes (thin skinned limes)

Steps:

  1. In a blender, first add ice, then frozen lime juice concentrate, then tequila to help melt everything and finally the Controy & water.
  2. Blend until smooth. If it is too frozen to pour, don't spoon it out. If it is that cold it will give you that nasty "Ice Cream Freeze" on your throat and soft pallet that will spoil the perfectness. Instead - add a little more water and blend some more. It won't hurt the flavor at all.
  3. Cut Limes into triangles and use to wet the rim of the serving glasses. We do not use those big margarita glasses as they spill too easy and also spoil the perfectness. We use glass beer mugs. Dip the limed glass into the margarita salt to coat the rim, Pour the margarita, add a wedge of lime in the rim and be careful not to mess up the salt. Remember - it is the Perfect Margarita.

This is the "outback" of Adobe Nido, viewing the Guest House. Upstairs is the Wood Duck Nest that overlooks the garden. Below is the covered patio area - a great place to sit , relax, and play darts with a cool drink in the summer, or sit and warm in the sun in the winter months. Pictured here is the patio at the front entrance..shaded by a beautiful catalpa tree in the summer, and warmed by the sunlit banco in the winter. The light is enchanting in this little courtyard making it a great place to photograph people.
This is the light and airy Wood Duck Nest. It has a private full bath in the room with a very large jetted tub for two. Located in the guest house this upstairs room is very spacious and quiet. Great for a multi-night stay. The Burrowing Owl's Nest is a romantic and secluded nest in the guest house with 2 private entrances and a shaded porch. You are just steps away from the outdoor sauna. Large jetted tub for two in your private bath.
