Adger House Creme Brulee French Toast
Total preparation time: 20 min
Serves: 8Ingredients:
- 1 lb loaf Take and Bake French Bread
- 8 Eggs
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 1/2 cups Half & Half
- 2 tablespoons Vanilla or Liquor
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 3/4 cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 1/3 cups Brown Sugar
Steps:
- Butter 9 x 13 baking dish. Slice bread about 1-1/2" thick and arrange in bottom of dish.
- Beat eggs, milk, cream, vanilla (or flavored liquor) and cinnamon in a bowl, and pour over bread. Refrigerate, covered, overnight.
- The next morning, preheat over to 350 degrees. In a saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup. Heat until bubbling.
- Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes. Note: Place foil under pan to catch sugary overflow. It will save clean-up time!
- This is a rich breakfast offering. I usually serve two slices per plate. Sprinkle with powdered sugur, and garnish with strawberry, sliced oranges, or your favorate fresh fruit.
