General InformationThe Kate Shepard House has been remodeled, includes all the latest amenities and is wireless. Nestled in the middle of 100 year old Magnolia trees the historic midtown Mobile neighborhood is perfect for taking walks. This lovely Queen Anne home was built in 1897 and designed by well known architect George Franklin Barber. It features eleven fireplaces and three original stained glass windows. Located minutes away from the Carnival Cruise Line Terminal, Mobile Convention Center, the USS Alabama, and about one hour from beautiful Louisiana, Florida and Mississippi Gulf coasts. Outlet Malls and antique shops are also just a short drive away. Mobile is noted for the beautiful Bellingraph Gardens and the city abounds with breathtaking azaleas, camellias and dogwoods. Come and enjoy refreshments on our front porch then take a leisurely stroll through our historic neighborhood.

After 14 years in Hawaii, we searched the south for the perfect house to fulfill our dream of owning a Bed and Breakfast. We found just that in this historic beauty. And it even came with boxes in the attic filled with treasures! On display in the library are letters and documents dating back to the early 1800's.
