Inn Details
When the days grow short and the winter landscape becomes stark and still, candles in the windows of the Historic Hopkins House welcome the fortunate traveler who passes our way during the holiday season. The Oak Park Inn, dressed in traditional evergreen garlands and fragrant boughs of cedar remind us of a gentler era. Small town Christmas parades, craft fairs, sleigh rides, and specialty shopping are only a sampling of the activities of the area. When the snow fly’s we also have snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling or dog sledding for those who prefer more vigorous activities.

This 2-room suite is located adjacent to the main house in the historic Carriage House. The queen size white pine bed sets the tone for this peaceful respite. Falling Aspen leaves surround the large windows overlooking the back gardens of the inn. A double-size futon in the parlor provides accommodations for two or a quiet place to read or watch television. Hang your hat on the Amish made coat rack and enjoy the beauty of our grounds.
We honor a culture that time has forgotten in this Carriage House room. A quilt on the double size bed and prints of Amish children are just a sampling of thier heritage. An Amish-made doll sits waiting on the shelf for that special little girl.
A private seating area outside the bedroom is an ideal spot to enjoy morning coffee or a glass of wine by the light of the garden torches. A 4 poster cherry wood queen-size bed, cherry wood bedstand and a vignette of roses accompany the bed linens and room decor. The double-size futon in the parlor allows for this suite to accommodate a family. The cherry wood desk provides a workspace for business travel or a place to write postcards to family and friends.
Two-queen size beds covered with Company Store quilts compliment the Campanelli prints and rose hips wallcoverings. Many country-style accessories in this room were purchased from artisans at nearby craft fairs. Amenities include coffee maker/microwave & refrigerator/cable television.
Captured from the Warren Kimble folk art painting of birdhouses, a double wall mural and picket fence give the illusion of a summer garden. Two-queen size beds with crazy daisy quilts can brighten any Wisconsin day. This non-smoking room can accommodate 4 adults. Just a few steps away, in the rear gardens you can sit and watch the squirrels all day long. Amenities include coffee maker/refrigerator and microwave/cable television.
Folk art prints of our nation's stars and stripes, and early Americana make this our all time favorite room. Celebrate the 4th of July year round. Step outside the door to a short walk to Ida Mae's grave in our back garden. Amenities include:coffee maker/refrigerator and microwave/cable television.
This two-queen bedroom reminds us of Grandma's farmhouse. Sage green quilts and antique roses decorate the walls and bath area. Cupid Awake and Cupid Asleep, two antique prints in a series of seven assure a peaceful night's rest. This room is a favorite of female travelers, if you listen carefully you can hear the wind chimes suspended in the Hickory tree nearby. Amenities include:coffee maker/refrigerator and microwave/cable television.
A crusty ole' sea captain keeps watch over the stormy skies at Oak Park Inn. Prints of famous lighthouses and Ralph Lauren fabrics make this non-smoking room a safe haven for travelers. A short distance to the upper yard provides a quiet place to nap in the late afternoon in the double person hammock. Amenities include: coffee maker/refrigerator and microwave/cable television.
Ray Mertz of Trempealeau, WI is known for his wildlife paintings of Western Wisconsin. Ray has also painted landscapes of a renovated Texaco Station and barn in nearby towns. These two particular prints provide the theme of gas station advertising and old trucks from the 40's. No shed is complete without the weathered red painted board's of Linda's childhood. Two walls are adorned with barn boards from the Nelson farm near Blair. Amenities include:coffee maker/refrigerator and microwave/cable television.

I stayed here for a work related trip and was treated with the utmost hospitality! They had wonderful rooms - very rustic but cozy and seemed to be kept up well. The staff was so friendly! I had an excellent sleep, although I didn't make it up for breakfast I was told my another that it was good.

A friend and I stayed at the Oak Park Inn on our way through town and it was just lovely. The room was nice with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, alarm clock and television. The outdoor space looked like it would be great to use, but it was a little chilly on our stay. Linda gave a warm greeting and suggested places for us to eat - Dodge Street Grill had a great Friday fish fry! Breakfast the next morning was also wonderful, with a continental breakfast and fresh pumpkin bread. We sat with Linda and a few other guests for some good conversation and then went on our way. I would highly recommend staying at the Oak Park Inn - great rates and great experience.
