Bananas Praline
Total preparation time: 20 min
Serves: 6Ingredients:
- 1/2 Package Light Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Cream or Half and Half
- 3 Pats Butter - NOT margarine
- to taste Vanilla
- to taste Cinnamon
- to taste Nutmeg
Steps:
- In your grandmother's iron skillet, combine a package of light brown sugar, some cream (or half and half), a nob of butter, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg to taste.
- Heat over low flame while stirring with a wooden spoon. Do not boil or you will have candy rather than Praline sauce. If it's too thick, add more cream; if too thin, add more brown sugar.
- Slice the 6 bananas in half, then slilce each half length-wise. Slide banana slices into warm sauce and heat for about two minutes.
- Lift banana slices onto a pretty glass plate or compote, garnish with fresh, ripe strawberries and fresh mint. Serve with your favorite fancy cookie.
- Graciously accept accolades.
