Reed Rose Cottage Quiche
Total preparation time: 20 minutes
Serves: 4Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cup swiss cheese shredded
- 6 slices bacon
- 1/8 cup chopped onion optional
- 1 pre made pie crust ( I like Pillsbury)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon butter, maragrine
- 1/8 cup optinal: tomates,peppers,mushrooms
- dash salt, pepper, nutmeg
- 4 eggs
Steps:
- Pre Heat oven 425
Remove pie crust from refrigerator should be room temperature
- Place crust in pie pan or quiche dish/ prick crust with fork
Smooth crust with margarine/butter
Spread grated cheese
Crumble Bacon and put on top of cheese
Add optional Ingredients
- Add 1 cup of milk (you can use cream)
4 eggs
nutmeg , salt and pepper
whisk until blended
Pour on top of cheese mixture
- Place in middle of oven on rack
Bake 425 for 15 minutes
Reduce heat to 325 for remaining 40 minutes
Test doneness by inserting knife in center of quiche
if clean, quiche is done
Let sit for a few minutes before serving
