Cheddar Cheese Soup
Total preparation time: 45 mins.
Serves: 8Ingredients:
- 1 Onion, Large, chopped
- 1 cup Celery, chopped
- 1/4 cup Butter, or margarine
- 1/4 cup Flour
- 3/4 teaspoon Mustard
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 cups Chicken Broth
- 2 Carrots, medium, chopped
- 2 Potatoes, lg, cubed
- 3 cups Milk
- 3 cups Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 1 cup Ham, cubed, Optional ingredientt
Steps:
- Using a large deep skillet, saute onion,celery, and butter for 2 mins.
- Have your broth ready but hold.
Saute flour, musard and worcestershire sauce for 1-2 mins. and then slowly add broth.
- Add carrots ad potatoes and bring to boil then lower heat and simmer for 25 mins.
- Add ham if desired.
Add milk, cheese, salt and pepper and heat to almost boiling. Serve hot! This is sure to warm you up!
