Halcyon Farm Old-Fashioned Cornbread

Serves: 12Ingredients:
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- pinch salt
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
Steps:
- Heat oven to 425 degrees. Brush iron cornstick pan (12 cornsticks) with melted butter.
- Thoroughly mix dry ingredients. Beat and mix egg and milk thoroughly.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients slowly and completely but do not over stir. Add and fold in extra butter without over stirring.
- Divide the batter evenly into the 12 individual cornstick compartments.
- Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes (or until brown).
