The Voorhees Room, named for the original owner and builder of this 1790 Federal brick home is located on the first floor. The room has cannonball twin beds, is fully carpeted, and has a private bathroom with tub shower. Shutters and blinds provide privacy. Morning sunlight glows off of the cheerful garden style wallpaper. In room air conditioning keeps you cool in summer while a charming gas fireplace and full size sofa provide a cozy reading area in winter. TV and Wi-Fi.

Guests comment on their wonderful sleep in the four-poster Ethan Allen bed with Stearns & Foster pillow top mattress. A curved settee & wing chair provide a comfortable area to sit or watch TV. Waverly fabrics decorate the bedroom. The new ceramic tiled bathroom has a glass corner shower & pedestal sink. Other amenities include Wi-Fi, TV, air-conditioning & gas fireplace. Years ago, this spacious but unfinished “hidden” room was mysteriously walled off from the upstairs hall. Accessible only through a circuitous back staircase, it was purportedly a stop on the underground railroad.
