Cranberry Bog French toast

Total preparation time:  30 mins.
Serves:  6

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 4 tart apples, NH
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 loaf french bread, 1 inch slices
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  1. Combine brown sugar, butter and 1 tsp of cinnamon into 13x9 inch baking pan. Add cranberries and peeled and sliced apples. Toss to coat well.
  2. Arrange bread slices on top. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla, 2 tsp cinnamon in a separate bowl. Pour mixture over bread, soaking bread completely.
  3. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake covered with foil for 40 mins. in a preheated 375-degree oven. Uncover and bake 5 more minutes. Let stand 5 min. before serving.
