General InformationBlue Heron B&B offers panoramic views of the Fairweather Mts. and 10 acres of brilliant wildflowers. This seaside retreat consists of a craftsman-built 8-sided cedar home, 2 Deluxe View Rooms in Heron House and 2 new Deluxe Cottages with kitchenettes. The stunning sunroom is available to all guests along with an onsite gift shop and library of naturalist materials. Rooms are appointed with binoculars, tasteful Alaskan artwork, books, games, tv/vcr, private tub and shower, table and chairs; all have high ceilings and many windows for an airy feeling. View Rooms have one Queen bed per room with plush sheets, duvets and comforters; both Cottages have 2 Queen beds and kitchenettes. Lupine features an extra set of full, adult-sized bunk beds and Fireweed can accommodate an extra sleeping cot, if necessary. Porches are a perfect place to take in a romantic sunrise or sunset! Kitchens are amply supplied with beautiful glassware, dishes, cutlery and cooking supplies as well as spices and select condiments. A grocery store is even across the street for any provisions you may want.
A picnic area is onsite along with barbecues. Road bikes allow guests to explore nearby galleries, cafes and trails. Blue Heron TOURS will even book all your adventures--they make it as easy as 1,2,3.

Lupine Cottage has 2 Queen beds, plus bunkbeds; able to sleep 6+, includes kitchenette, tv/vcr, tub/shower, bbq's and access to laundry, freezer; double in 1 Queen bed @$185; $80 each additional adult,$0-$50 each additional child. Fireweed Cottage has 2 Queen beds, possible rollaway, sleeps 4+; includes tv/vcr,tub/shower, stove/oven, stocked kitchen, bbq's, refrig. Double starts @$185 ($80 each additional adult), $0-$50 each additional child. Both cabins include access to bikes on a first come-first served basis.
Meals- A Gourmet & healthy option breakfast is included with room rate

Only the best smoked wild salmon is used in this amazing dish of fluffy eggs, filling and topped with sour cream and capers. A true gourmets' delight!
Some guest favorites are an array of sweet breads, freshly ground wheat or hot oat cereal for healthminded appetites, Sourdough French toast with center cut bacon or ham, or a berry laden waffle! Please advise us if you have any special dietary needs so we can plan ahead. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.

- We cannot accommodate guest pets (recommend the Pet Nanny in Juneau)
- Children are welcome (well-behaved ($0-$20/child))
- No childcare is provided
- Consumption of alcohol is permitted
- Deposit amount required (We hold reservations with a credit card and ask for 50% deposit within 10 days of the reservation. The remainder is due within 60 days of arrival, if possible. (1 nite, 100% deposit))
- Check in time is 2 pm (flexible) and Check out time is 11am (flexible)
- Cancellations:
We may charge a $50 re-booking/cancellation fee if a reservation is cancelled more than 30 days prior to arrival. Any cancellations 30 days or closer to arrival time is subject to forfeiture of fees unless we are able to re-book the entire reservation. Blue Heron is only 2 miles from the Gustavus airport where guests are greeted by hosts with a courtesy van. This B&B is ideally situated for your Glacier Bay adventures-- great location, easy access to pristine beaches, Salmon River, parks, playgrounds, galleries, cafes, restaurants and store.
For the true sightseer, we might suggest an earlier arrival by flying to Gustavus in one of the smaller planes (single engine plane up to a Caravan) with space available for four to ten passengers. Flights are all accessible from Juneau International Airport and are easy to arrange. We can book you with a local carrier based out of Gustavus or Juneau. Flights average about 30 minutes and give you a bird's eye view of mountains, wildlife, fishing boats and magnificent water patterns. - Nearest major airport: JNU 45 miles
