General InformationAN ENGLISHMANS HOME IN DOWNTOWN TORONTO The owner Geoffrey Pimblett is very much like John Cleese and Pimblett'Rest is a veritable 'Fawlty Towers'. Also known as the 'End House' this 1860's home is located right downtown Toronto in the historical area known as Cabbagetown. Restored to provide all mod-cons and comforts, modern plumbing, central heating, & air conditioning and a conversion from gas to electric lighting. Most of the old world charm has been retained. The Victorian Kitchen with its coke stove, washer and mangle. The Wallnut Panelled Breakfast Room displaying the owners collection of tea pots. The Library with its British and American literature, mahogony fireplace and more tea pots. The Front Hall with its resplendant French Ormalou Chrystal Chandelier and 1890's Jaques & Hayes Coat Stand and a dinner gong. Each Bedroom has its own charm, using many out of print wallpapers and certainly out of date furnishings. There are three rooms to choose from; The Agatha Christie Room, The Queen Mothers Front bedroom, and The Butlers Back Bedroom with a view of the back yard.
