Wer recently returned from a month-long trip to the Northeast US, staying in several bed and breakfasts. By far our favorite was the Kitt Shepley House in Newport, RI. We had a beautiful suite, a welcoming hostess, and a fantastic breakfast. The inn is in a good location within walking distance of many restaurants and a short drive to see the mansions. We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful breakfast each morning. The hostess Linda has given a lot of thought in decorating the breakfast area and we even had gold-plated utensils. The first morning we had a large fruit cup of fresh strawberries and blueberries, a big cranberry/orange muffin, banana french toast, orange juice and coffee. The second morning was fresh honeydew melon and raspberries, a large cappuccino/chocolate chip muffin, a whole-wheat omelet wrap with salsa, orange juice and coffee. Linda helped us plan our days and furnished us with maps. It was a delightful stay. Although we live on the West Coast, we'd like to return to Newport some day to spend more time and we'll definitely stay at the Kitt Shepley House!

Linda and Paul provided exceptional hospitality and service during our short stay. The room was elegant, yet quaint, and very clean. The location is a perfect distance from great restaurants and shopping and a short drive to beautiful beaches. I look forward to staying there again.
