General InformationNamed for the year it was built, 1871 House is a "New York City Style" bed & breakfast or City-Style Country Inn offering seven furnished guest rooms & suites.
The bedrooms evoke sophisticated country houses. They're accessorized with cachepots, candlesticks, country quilts, baskets, trays, baskets. Architectural details such as the original marble fireplaces have been retained & give the rooms a warm and inviting ambiance with the familiarity of home.
1871 House is centrally located in the historic district of the Upper East Side on East 62nd Street between Park & Lexington Avenues.
The Upper East Side neighborhood is an upscale neighborhood surrounded by many of the city’s best restaurants, chic boutiques (Hermes, Dior, Burberry's, Chanel, Hermes, Gucci, Prada & Ralph Lauren to name a few ) and museums (The Frick, The MET, MOMA & the Whitney).
The neighborhood also contains many of the city’s most important and beautiful old mansions and town homes and is conveniently located just two blocks to Central Park. The 1871 House is also in close proximity to many sidewalk cafes and is walking distance to Carnegie Hall.
All 1871 House units feature private ensuite bathrooms and include modern conveniences such as air-conditioning (June-Sept), cable TV, phone w/answering machines. Free WiFi is available to all guests in the house. Hair dryers, irons and ironing boards are also included. Most rooms also include private kitchenettes or full kitchens. Beds feature down blankets & pillows, cotton blankets & country quilts.
Daily maid service not included with regular rates. Complimentary light cleans every 3-5 days. Maid service can be added to your stay on a per diem option. Daily trash removal included. As a small facility we do not have a formal concierge desk. Office hours 8:30-6:30 (M-F) & 8:30-3 (Sat&Sun). Non-elevatored house. All Rooms accessed via central staircas

- Deposit amount required (50% deposit, minimum 1 night required at time of booking. All reservations must be paid in full within 30 days of arrival date. Balances are automatically charged to your credit card.)

- Cancellations:
No Reservation is guaranteed until secured and confirmed with a 50% deposit. If cancellation is at least 30 days prior to arrival, deposits are refundable, less a 25% service fee, minimum of one night stay.
