General Information

Named for the year it was built, 1871 House is a "New York City style" bed & breakfast or City-style Country Inn offering seven furnished apartments and guest rooms.

The bedrooms all evoke country houses. They're accessorized with cachepots, candlesticks, country quilts, baskets, trays, baskets. Architectural details such as the original marble fireplaces have been retained and give the rooms a warm and inviting ambience with the familiarity of home.

1871 House is centrally located in the historic district of the Upper East Side in the east 60s between Park and Lexington Avenues.

The Upper East Side neighborhood is an upscale neighborhood containing many of the city’s best restaurants, chic boutiques (Hermes, Vuitton, Dior, Burberry's, Chanel, Hermes, Givenchy, Valentino, Armani, Gaultier, Dolce & Gabbana, Versaci, Gucci, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Yves St. Laurent to name just a few) and museums (The Frick, The MET, MOMA and the Whitney).

The neighborhood also contains many of the city’s most important and beautiful old mansions and townhomes and is conveniently located only two blocks east to Central Park. The 1871 House is also in close proximity to many sidewalk cafes and is walking distance to Carnegie Hall.

All 1871 House units feature private ensuite bathrooms and include modern conveniences such as air-conditioning (June-September), cable TV, phone w/answering machines. Free WiFi or Dial-up internet is available to all guests in the house (using guest's own computer). Hair dryers, irons and ironing boards are also included. Most rooms also include private kitchenettes or full kitchens.

    No Reservation is guaranteed until secured and confirmed with a 50% deposit. No refunds can be given for cancellations made less than 30 days prior to arrival. To receive a refund, cancellation requests must be made in writing.
