Come stay this weekend and you will learn all about Amish Christmas Traditions! Check-in Friday and unwind. Saturday morning is free to explore Amish Country and in the afternoon your adventure begins! You will visit an Amish woman who makes and sells hand-dipped candles. Each guest will receive a candle to take home! You'll also visit a general store where many of the Amish doe their Christmas shopping. At supper time you will indulge in a holiday feast that consists of 7-Layer Salad, Homemade Bread, Turkey Ham, Sweet Potato Casserole, Noodles & Dressing. For dessert you will enjoy a fruit cobbler and cherry cheese cake along with holiday punch and coffee. The Progressive Meal Tour gives you most of the day to explore the back roads, passing beautiful farm lands, buggies, and scenic views. It also gives your tour guide the chance to share in detail about Amish Culture in Holmes County. 8:00 A.M. Begin with a hearty breakfast in an Amish home, followed by a visit to the historical mural, "Behalt". You'll continue on the back roads and stop for your choice of a buggy ride or tour a one room school house. There is a unique gift shop on the property. Lunch at Amish home # 2. Visit the sisters who sell hand made quilts and rugs. makes and sells their handmade baskets. You'll make a comfort stop and limited time for shopping in the village of Kidron followed by a stop at the Amish "Wal-mart" (no it isn't what you think!) and the candle maker. She will give us a demonstration and her products are for sale. The last stop will conclude the day with our main dinner and desserts at Amish home # 3.
