Egg custard
Total preparation time: 1 hour
Serves: 6Ingredients:
- 5 eggs
- 8 tablespoons Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 4 cups whole milk or half-half
Steps:
- Allow eggs to warm to room temperature; beat thoroughly. Continue to beat while adding sugar, salt, vanilla.
Turn on oven to 325 degrees. Put baking dish with water bath into the oven.
- Heat milk in microwave; beverage cycle works.
- Beat egg mixture slowly; add a little hot milk at a time to eggs. Go slowly so the eggs do not cook. Finish adding the milk while continuing to mix.
- Our custard mix into cups or other baking dishes, and place in water bath/baking dish. Sprinkle cinnamon on top. Bake for approx. 45 minutes until firm. When done, allow to cool on the kitchen counter, then refrigerate.
