General InformationThe Harbor View Inn sits high on a knoll providing a spectacular view of the Damariscotta/Newcastle harbor. The property features perennial and annual gardens with benches and birdbaths plus a hillside of wildflowers.
Original art and antiques create an atmosphere of casual elegance in a relaxed and gracious living space. The large beamed living room with nine windows provides spectacular harbor views day and night and opens to a large deck.
Other common areas include the dining room with its old brick fireplace and the second floor reading-room, both overlooking the Damariscotta River.
Guest rooms are large and airy with private tiled baths, satellite TV, wi-fi, decks and fireplaces. Beds are king and queen sized (twins also available) and are appointed with fresh flowers. The rooms also provide comfortable chairs plus excellent lighting for reading in bed.

Take the Maine Turnpike I-95 (toll road) north to Exit 52 where you pick up 295 (freeway). Continue on 295 to Exit 28 (Brunswick/Bath-Coastal Route 1). Proceed onto Route 1 for 25 miles to the Newcastle/Damariscotta Exit (Business Route 1 North, Route 129,Route 130, and Route 215). After .2 miles, turn into the first driveway on your left (the Harbor View Inn) after leaving the exit ramp.

Twenty years ago, Joe McEntee left the corporate world to enter culinary school and then worked as chef and manager of several of Philadelphia's premier restaurants.
