Old Spring Farm Bed and Breakfast, a circa 1883 Virginia farmstead, is an 'authentic' French country farm-stay distinct from other area accommodations (Washington Post, June 29, 2003 & Jan. 28, 2004).


Slip back to a simpler time and a slower pace, where an occasional logging truck is the only traffic and the sounds of nature prevail.

Expect wholesome food, artfully prepared, with a gourmet touch. With emphasis on fresh and in-season, savor a hearty breakfast for the gourmand served on Apple-patterned Franciscan earthenware accompanied by vintage family silverware.
Homemade morning breads, jams, and delectable specialties utilize local or farm-raised eggs, meat, fruit and vegetables (Gourmet Magazine).     The joint venture of Old Spring Farm Bed and Breakfast and working farm began in 1997. Running a bed and breakfast has brought together all of my interests and talents in art, writing, interior design and farming. It requires skill beyond being personable. It was a good use of the property. Cooking is the part I love best and I honed my skills running a restaurant for area farmers in Wassaic, NY in 1979-80. They were tempted with eleven kinds of pies, all homemade, and farm-style cooking.
