General Information

Styled in the tradition of grand plantation homes of the 18th century. The Virginia Cliffe Inn is nestled among the trees in Glen Allen, 12 miles north of Richmond, VA. The 6 acres ground front on historic Mountain Road near fine restaurants, shops, and historic sites. The grounds include a pond with swans and a gazebo. The spacious four guest rooms in the main house include a king-size, and three queen-size rooms. One room can be converted to twin beds upon request. All have private baths and individually decorated. The Virginia Cliffe Inn is located just 10 minutes from Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, The Museum of Fine Arts, the Science Museum, The Virginia State Capital, St. John's Church where Patrick Henry gave his memorable "give me liberty or give me death" plea and historic waterfront Shockoe Bottom.

    Margaret & James opened their Georgian-style home as an inn in 1998. James, a general contractor built the home by dismantled the original 1896 farmhouse on the property and building their home using all the useable material from the old home. Margaret takes pride in her old fashion home cooking. The Inn also hosts weddings allowing family and friends lodging for the event.
