General Information

Adams House is located in historic and central Hyde Park. It is a colonial revival home built in 1911. It was renovated by the historic preservation architect, Gregory Free, in 1997. The original pine floors, sash windows, and 12-foot ceilings have been restored. The home is now owned and operated as a bed and breakfast by Sidney Lock. Adams House has five guestrooms. One of those bedrooms is a suite with an adjoining sunroom with windows on three sides, antique wicker furniture and a queen size sleeper sofa. There is also a bungalow outside. All of the bedrooms are filled with antique furniture and custom made coverlets, dust ruffles and shams. A growing art collection adds to the decor. The location at the corner of Avenue G and 43rd, places Adams House one block from the Elisabet Ney Museum and Shipe Park and two blocks from numerous restaurants, coffee houses, a grocery store and a bakery. A full breakfast is served daily.
