General Information

Enjoy Comfort, Cuisine and Gourmet Coffee in our 1884 home located in the historic district of New Ulm overlooking the Minnesota River Valley. Four blocks from downtown New Ulm's specialty and antique shops and unique restaurants. All guest rooms have private baths and air conditioning and some have fireplaces and whirlpools tubs. We are just a short distance from Schell's Brewery and the Morgan Creek Vineyards and Flandrau State Park. This home features eight types of wood in it woodwork, a marble fireplace, beveled glass French doors, and a baby grand piano that we welcome our guests to play.     During the late 1800's and early 1900's, The Black Forest Suite had been two bedrooms for the maids and their private bath. This suite is in its own private area on the second floor; the bedroom is cozy similar to a Black Forest Cottage. The "tub" room has a large whirlpool tub and a fireplace. The room is enhanced with a mural of a whimsical Black Forest painted by a New Ulm artist.

Our guests enjoy this fruit course along with a serving of our homemade granola.

A short distance down the road sign indicating New Ulm via County Road 37. Turn left onto 37. After crossing the railroad tracks there is a stop and go light. Turn right onto Broadway. The cross streets are numbered numerically…15th Street South, 14th Street South, etc. At 10th Street South there is a stoplight, turn right. Go two blocks to German Street. Turn left. Continue on German Street and our b&b is on the left after you pass 5th Street South and before 4th Street South. There is a small sign in the front yard indicating that it is the Deutsche Strasse B&B. 1-866-226-9856

    Take I494 West to Highway 169 South. Follow169 for about 1 hr 15 minutes to St. Peter. On the south side of St. Peter, turn right onto Highway 99. Continue approximately 10 miles until 99 merges with U.S. 14. Turn right. Follow Highway 14 through the town of Courtland. After Courtland watch for a sign indicating County Road 37. Turn left on 37 and continue on this road crossing some railroad tracks to a stop and go light. Turn right on Broadway. The cross streets are numbered numerically…15th Street South, 14th Street South, etc. At 4th Street South, turn right. Go two blocks and turn right onto German Street.
