Included for the 5-6 of you will be a snack basket, a great woodsy location for delightful hikes, full kitchen for creating your favorite comfort foods, proximity to the Virginia Creeper Trail for a bike outing, and a not-too-far drive for some shopping in Blowing Rock NC, truffle shop in Boone, NC and dinner out if you so choose.

A COTTAGE IN THE WOODS is the perfect getaway for your family--kids and dog! Situated on 30 wooded acres (great fall leaves!!!) the 3/2 house sleeps 7-8. Near the Virginia Creeper Trail (downill biking), Appalachian Trail and loads of other outdoor activities (or wander our woods!) Fully furnished. Full kitchen, too. Just bring your food! Great place to catch a little snow from Thanksgiving onward. Between Boone, NC and Abingdon, VA. Two day min. Average price ranges from $200/weekend for couples to $250/night for families. One dog stays free.
Couples may also select breakfast at the inn (9 miles away).

MUGS & FLOWERS: Select two of the inn's custom crafted Deneen Pottery mugs (choice of 5 colors) and we will fill one with candy and the other with flowers. $45 (mugs only are $32.50)

ULTIMATE ICE CREAM SUNDAE Wow, ice cream, syrup, whipped cream and a cherry on top. Served at a time you would like in a bright container you may take home if you so desire. $16. Served in a leaded crystal container for a very special momento: $45.

We generally have a discount from What Fir! Christmas tree farm which we'll pass along to you. Get the most wonderful tree direct from the farm at really low prices. Choose and cut it yourself.
Select from one or more nights at the inn or a minimum of two nights at the cottage (dogs welcome at the cottage ONLY). Prices from $99-$169
We'll put your tree in water from the time you 'bring it home' until you head back to your residence.

Room 1 Wonderfully romantic. Romance Room 1 (king bed and whirlpool tub) is made for celebrating special occasions. Calm buttery-yellow color scheme. Private entrance and porch area with private swing views. Relax! This room has TWO fireplaces--one in the guest room and one in the bath! Extra soft chenille robes and candles provided. The red window (shown) is historic and rare glass. PS IF you like cats, Big Head will gladly sit on your lap or swing on the swing with you. He will also leave you alone if you so desire.A Cottage in the Woods--our 3BR/2BA house on 30 acres just minute from the Virginia Creeper Trail with hiking on the property. (Not adjacent to the B&B inn.) Kids and dogs welcome. The cottage is a full size, 1300 sq.ft. house with full kitchen, including microwave, two modern baths, sizable living room/dining combo, deck and all that wonderful nature just outside the door. Sleeps up to 7. All linens, dishes, everything you need provided. Bring your food. Great activities just a short drive away. $125/night plus $25/person, child or dog. Two night min. required.

ALL our guest rooms include candles, snacks, robes for your use, TV, free wireless, a phone line, central heat and air with individual controls and really great privacy and probably the largest guest rooms in the region where NC, VA and Tennessee come together.We offer elopements for two and weddings with many guests (in our new Pavilion Room and wedding garden). We make weddings easy with our Ten Question Method. Make 10 decisions and let us do the rest. Elopement coordination and facility fee $100 plus minister and license fees. For larger groups: Enjoy the Mountain Pavilion Room rental from $100/hour. Beautiful space and many extras included. Weekend rental (5 rooms + wedding space) $2600-$3300.
Room 5-your own balcony with three-state view. (Smoking permitted on balcony). Queen bed, large room and gas log stove. Bath is quite large with a large (new) shower and our antique claw tub for soaking. Cable TV, robes, candles, bubble bath, ceiling fan, central heat/air. Very relaxing without a taxing price tag.Bathroom in Room 4 - Delightful whirlpool tub for two with rain shower. A small ledge around the room provides a perfect spot for the candles--provided by the inn.

As you turn off the highway, this is what you see in summer.Choose and Cut your own fraser fir Christmas tree. "The season" begins right after the first frost--usually the first weekend in November. The busiest time is the weekend after Thanksgiving. Plan to get your wonderful live, fresh tree now. Families may wish to rent A Cottage in the Woods (2-night minimum). You may bring your dog to the cottage AND to the tree cutting. And why does that man have a white stick? To tell how tall the tree is (so it will fit in your house!!)
