General Information

Nestled amongst the historic seaport buildings of Rockland, the nine room Captain Lindsey House, built in 1832 as Captain George Lindsey's private home, was opened to the public in 1837 as one of Rockland's first Inns. We offer a quiet, comfortable and cozy retreat from your day's activities. Meticulous care is evident in each of our spacious rooms, offering modern amenities without infringing upon the grace of our antique furnishings. Imagine a lovely roadside English Inn, or a Sea Captain's home in the early 1800's, filled with artifacts and furnishings from all parts of the world. Sit by the warmth of a fire in our cozy living room and enjoy afternoon tea in our private outdoor secret garden, or stroll along historic Main Street.Wake up to a delicious full English breakfast in our beautiful breakfast room.   • Cancellations:
    We are a small facility and last minute cancellations greatly impact us; therefore we do have a ten day cancellation policy. If you cancel prior to ten days from arrival, we will refund entire deposit. If you cancel within the ten days prior to arrival, and we are able to re-book the room, we will refund your deposit less a 10% service charge. If we are unable to re-sell the room, you will forfeit your deposit.

North of Freeport, take exit 22 (coastal Route 1), and follow Route 1 all the way into Rockland, Route 1 turns left onto Main Street. At the end of Main St. turn left onto Summer St., then left on Union (one block up), and left on to Lindsey St. We are at the end of Lindsey St.on the left, just past Waterworks Restaurant. From the north: Head south on castal Route 1 through Camden to Rockland. Route 1 loops to the right and then left (after Dunkin Donuts)onto Union St. Take your fifth left onto Lindsey St. We are on the left, just past Waterworks Restaurant.

    Follow Route 17 south into Rockland, turn right onto Route 1, follow Route 1 past Dunkin Donuts the road loops to the right and then left onto Union Street. Take your fifth left onto Lindsey Street, we are on the left just past Waterworks Restaurant.
