General Information

The Murphy House is located in the historic district of downtown Oneonta.


Only one block from Main Street, guests enjoy a pleasant walk to downtown cafes and shoppes. Guests also appreciate being only minutes away from Hartwick College, SUNY Oneonta, baseball parks, and cultural/art centers.


Noted for quality, the Murphy House offers two large guest suites - each with a private bath, bedroom, sitting room, internet access, air-conditioning and tv.


Each morning, coffee and the daily newspaper are available on a sunny indoor porch. 'Breakfast of the Day' may include quiche and homemade biscotti, or gingerbread pancakes with real whipped cream.


Promoting local produce and farmers markets, hostess Nancy Murphy has published her own cookbook "An Oneonta Good Morning - 101 Recipes Served at the Murphy House Bed and Breakfast".

Mike, originally from Long Island, holds a civil engineering degree from RIT and currently works for Gilbane Building Company.
