Victorian Suite
This was once the master bedroom suite. It has a cozy attached glassed in porch with wicker furniture. The bedroom itself has a romantic queen sized canopy bed draped in soft lace, a highly carved antique armoire, electric fireplace and revolving bookcase, small sofa and chairs. The tiled bath still has the original soaking tub with shower, a large sink and its own heat control and heat lamp. Lace trimmed linens, lots of pillows and a down comforter adorn the bed and plush Egyptian cotton towels and bathrobes complete this room.

Tower Room
The Tower Room has great architectual details comprising a turret with large windows and a working gas fireplace. The brass queen sized bed is covered in plump pillows and laced sheets. Two comfortable upholstered chairs and Queen Anne sofa create a small sitting area, oak armoire and dresser complete the room's romantic ambiance.

Blue Willow Room
The Blue Willow Room tells its story in blue and white. Collectible plates from around the world cover the walls of the turret. A gas fireplace adds warmth and ambiance while white lace curtains allows in lots of light. The dark walnut wood of the armoire, queen sized bed, complementary lady's and gentleman's chair, and chests add strength and character. Embroidered sheets and pillow cases accentuate the blue and white theme.

Country Willow Room
Beautiful country quilts and accessories fill this room with charm. The queen sized four poster bed and floral comforter take center stage, but guests love curling up with a good book on the upholstered chaise lounge. A white marble bathroom sparkles against a back drop of Swedish Blue walls and plush hand knotted Chinese rug.

Christmas Room
Victorians loved Christmas and this room is decorated year round for the holiday. Old toys, decorations, and books abound. The Christmas Room is a large room with a cozy sitting area complete with a copy of a Ben Franklin type stove. The sleeping area has a grand queen sized four poster bed and heirloom armoire. The room is large enough that a roll away bed may be added to accommodate a third person for an additional $15 fee. The private attached bathroom with shower complements the red, green and white theme.

Garden Room
This room overlooks the English Garden in the side yard and the Victorian floral wallpaper brings the garden right inside. The highback Victorian full sized bed and tall mirrored armoire make this room majestic. Accessories decorated with violets and grapes and pansies carry out the garden theme. A great oak rocker and Morris chair upholstered in a gold sun and moon design adds further interest and excitement.

Library
The library theme adds a slightly masculine flair to the home. The furniture is a mix of mahogany and pine from the early days of the last century and even before. A Victorian walnut dresser and a beautiful antique brass headboard stands amidst a leafy vine wallpaper print in burgandy and cream. The room has a chesterfield style leather sofa and comfortable upholstered chair perfect for reading. The bathroom is tiled in white marble and burgandy. By its name, library, you could guess that books abound in the room.

Egan Room
The Egan family was the first owners of this magnificent Queen Anne home. This room has been recently redecorated and named in their memory. The gentle elegance of the white and blue toile print and stately Chinese oriental carpet is fitting of the family memory. A full sized wrought iron bed, pine armoire, and Victorian highback dresser adorn the room. A small wash room has been created en suite with easy access to a private hall bath complete with clawfoot tub and shower.

East Room
The East Room was once attached to the master suite as a sitting room with a decorative fireplace. It now serves as a completely separate guestroom with a brass bed and oak furnishings. The striped wallpaper and floral bed quilt was chosen to complement the tile that surrounds the fireplace. This room has a sink en suite and shares a bathroom in the hall with one other room. Arts and crafts style furnishings fill this room.

South Room

University City Section of Philadelphia, PAThe summer holidays are celebrated on the wrap around porch at The Gables.
The Victorian Suite was the master bedroom of the house.  In this view you are looking through the room out onto the private glassed-in porch.  It has a full bath with tub/shower and a very realistic electric fireplace. The South Room at The Gables B&B has two twin beds and shares a hall bathroom with the East Room.
The Blue Willow Room at The Gables B&B is the favorite room of many guests with a queen sized bed, working gas fireplace, and private attached bathroom with shower.The Christmas Room at The Gables B&B is the largest of the rooms and can accommodate 3 people with a roll away bed.  It has a private attached bathroom with shower.
The East Room at The Gables B&B; it shares a hall bathroom with the South RoomThe Egan Room at The Gables B&B has a sink en suite.  A private full bathroom with clawfoot tub/shower is entered into from the hallway.
The Tower Room with working gas fireplace has its own private bathroom with shower and a sink in the room.The Garden Room at The Gables B&B has magnificent antique furniture and a private attached bathroom with shower.
