Raisin Molasses Drops

Ingredients:

• 1 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup molasses
• 1 egg
• 2 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 tablespoon ground cloves
• 1/2 teaspoon ginger
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 3/4 cup butter
• 1 cup raisins
• sugar

Steps:

1. Beat the butter and 1 cup of sugar until light and fluffy. Add molasses and egg; beat well.
2. Combine flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt. Add to molasses mixture; mix well. Stir in raisins.
3. Cover; refrigerate until chilled. Shape into 1 inch balls; roll each in sugar.
4. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookies sheets. Bake in upper third of oven for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool 1 minute; transfer to wire racks.
5. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
