A great little gem of a place in the middle of nowhere, right next to a raging river. How nice. Virginia and her animals met us at the door when we arrived and we always felt welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was fresh, delicious, and well prepared. I am fully confident to recommend this terrific B&B. We also enjoyed meeting new friends, David and Margaret, and Mike and Trudy. Thanks for the lead on those Lilies! They were breathtaking!

My husband and I have just returned from 23 days in the USA. Because some roads in Yosemite were still blocked with snow we found ourselves unable to travel to Mammoth Lakes, so we had to find another route to Death Valley and somewhere else to stay. I used the B&B website to search for accommodation near Lake Isabella and discovered the Kern River B&B. We were fortunate that Virginia had a room for us and when we arrived we realised we had discovered a little gem Virginia was lovely, full of helpful advice and she sorted out our evening dinner reservation at a local restaurant. The B&B was delightful, our room was lovely and breakfast next morning was lovely. There had been no mention of WiFi on the website and we were wondering if we would be able to keep in touch with the family while we were there. We needn't have worried, Virginia did indeed have WiFi and hadn't thought that anywhere wouldn't be providing that service these days. Which is I suppose why she doesn't mention it on her website. Our stay with her exceeded our expectations and I think it was fantastic value for money. I'd stay there again anytime. Margaret & Dave Parton - England

The location of this charming b&b is right across the street from a park on the Kern River. It has a great front porch where I spent a lot of time reading and relaxing. At night the lanterns from a campground across the river shone in the dark. And I was able to walk to the small town, which has a lot of antique stores! The room I had was beautiful and cozy and very comfortable, with a large bathroom and a fireplace. Virginia is delightful and the food absolutely yummy! I will be sure to return.

The small cottage we stayed in was perfect. It had a kitchenerte with stove, fridge and microwave. The room was very clean. They even had a tempurpedic mattress which was the most incredible thing I've slept on. The morning breakfast was great as well: freshly made cinnamon French toast, shredded mushroom potatoes, and freshly baked banana bread amongst other goodies. The location was great as it was only 20 min to lake isabella and about 1 hr to the sequoias (which are amazing). I would highly recommend this place.
