General Information

Located just three short blocks from the historic square in the quaint town of Granbury, Texas (90 minutes from DFW airport), the Iron Horse Inn Bed and Breakfast is a large (6,500 square-foot), lovingly restored Craftsman-style home featuring ornate mill work and intricate leaded glass. It is the largest historic inn in Granbury, Texas. Also available two adorable guest cottages in our lush gardens. Besides this splendid 100 year-old house, well-manicured grounds and flower gardens, the historic Granbury Texas Iron Horse Inn is well known for total care of its guests. The first-class service begins the minute you are personally greeted by hosts, Paul and Theresa. They also host a variety of artistic retreats, including quilting and painting.

    Take Highway 377 SW out of Fort Worth; in Granbury, take Business 377 to the right (this is Pearl Street); two blocks West of the town square on Pearl, turn right onto Travis which becomes Thorp Spring Road. The house is first on right after railroad tracks.

  • Directions from airport:
    From DFW International Airport: Head south on Terminal D Access Road (0.4 miles). Take the ramp onto TX-97 S (toll) – go 3.9 miles. [97, also known as “International Parkway,” is the main road bisecting DFW airport.] Take the exit towards Grand Prairie/Arlington onto 183 or “Airport Freeway”, go 1.6 miles. Merge onto TX-360 South, go 10.7 miles. Exit onto I-20 West, then continue 23 miles. Then take exit 429-A for US-377 South towards Granbury (one of the two exits for town of Benbrook – at this exit, carefully follow the signs to Granbury. Continue about 24 miles; when you start getting into Granbury, take right-hand exit to “Business 377,” which is Pearl Street. Pass the historic town square (with County Courthouse) on your right, then turn right onto Travis Street. Go 0.4 miles; the Iron Horse Inn is on your right just after passing over the railroad tracks. Welcome!

  • Innkeeper(s): Paul & Theresa
    Theresa is an accomplished quilter, dressmaker and miniaturist (doll houses, etc), with an interest in other arts. She has opened an artists' retreat center offering courses (see our website), and the studio is available for you to design your own retreat! Paul is a retired diplomat, which is why we speak the other languages. We welcome international visitors!
