Cream Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • milk or butter for brushing tops

Steps:

  1. Into a bowl sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt, add the cream and stir the mixture until it just forms a dough.
  2. Gather the dough into a ball, knead it gently 6 times on a lightly floured surface, and roll or pat gently to 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Cut into 10 biscuits squares or use a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter dipped in flour. Gather any scrapes and reroll and cut out additional biscuits. Place on ungreased cookie sheet
  4. Brush the tops with the milk or butter and bake in preheated oven 425 degrees for 15 minutes or until they are pale golden. Cool on rack for 5 minutes. Serve with jam and butter.
