Strawberry Stuffed French Toast with Nut Sauce
Ingredients:
- 6-8 Sour dough or wheat rolls
- 8 Eggs
- 2 cups Milk
- 2 tablespoons Vanilla
- Strawberry Jam
- Soft Cream Cheese
- 1/2 stick Butter
- 1/4 cup Chopped Walnuts
- 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons Corn Starch
- 2/3 cup Cold water
Steps:
- Melt butter and pour in 13x9 pan. Cut rolls in half, spread cream cheese on 1 side of rolls. Spread strawberry jam on other side of rolls. Put rolls in pan and cut in quarters.
- Mix eggs, milk, vanilla. Pour mixture over rolls. Cover and let sit in refrigerator overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
- Nut Sauce - Mix corn starch and water and set aside. Heat jam to a boil. Add water/corn starch mixture. Stir constantly and bring to a boil. Simmer for 3 minutes. Add lemon and chopped nuts. Cut french toast into approximately 6-8 squares. Pour Nut Sauce over squares (Can add fresh strawberry wedges on top of squares).
