General InformationMadewood Plantation House, 75 miles northwest of New Orleans' French Quarter (65 miles from N.O. airport), is a gracious retreat where life slows down. This National Historic Landmark Greek Revival mansion, called the "temple in the sugar cane fields,," sits on 20 acres, with sprawling oaks. Its eight large bedrooms have canopied beds and antiques, but the atmosphere is more homey than formal. Choose an all-inclusive evening or visit local restaurants for a varied experience. Guests choosing the all-inclusive package gather for wine and cheese before sitting down together for a candlelight dinner of Southern Louisiana specialties. Afterwards, coffee is served in the parlor. Madewood has been featured recently in Travel and Leisure and Conde Nast Traveler. We are Select Registry and Conde Nast Johansens. Daily guided tours are available from 10am to 4pm.
