General Information

Four Columns Inn sits atop a knoll overlooking what was once the Winnebago Jackson Stage Road built in 1884. This lovingly remodeled Greek Revival home rests on a 320-acre rural working farm, with 10 acres of flowers, ornamental trees and lawns surrounded by wrought iron and wood fences. The four guestrooms are decorated with antiques. Rooms are further adorned with wicker, Handel lamp, stained glass windows and decorative fireplaces. A library, circular stairway, living room with grand piano, and a greenhouse full of flowers, with a redwood hot tub make a stay here memorable. For those celebrating a special occasion, try The Bridal Suite, which offers a rooftop deck with a view of the peaceful countryside. The Master's Room located on the sunny side of the house has access to a balcony that overlooks that front lawn and gazebo. Hearty homemade breakfasts are served either in the formal dining room, in the greenhouse, Victorian gazebo, or in front of a crackling fire by the fireplace in the kitchen. There are music rooms with a player piano, antique phonographs, 3 antique pump organs and a 50's jukebox. The Inn is located two miles north of I-90 on HWY. 4, halfway between Chicago and the Black Hills. Phone, air conditioning, ceiling fans in room, private baths. Weddings, small meetings, and family reunions hosted. Amusement park, excursion boat, antiquing, hiking, biking, fishing, parks, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, theater, lakes and watersports nearby.
