Cream Cheese Breakfast Cake with Walnuts

- 1 cup Softened butter
- 1/3 cup Chopped Walnuts
- 8 oz package Cream Cheese, softened
- 1 1/2 cups Sugar
- 4 eggs, room temperature
- 2 tablespoons grated orange peel
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- TOPPING
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup choped walnuts
Steps:
- Butter a 10-inch springform pan. Spread 1/3 cup chopped walnuts over the bottom.
- Beat together butter, cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in orange peel and vanilla.
- Sift together dry ingredients; add to butter mixture blending well. Stir in 1 cup chopped walnuts. Pour into prepared pan.
- Mix together the topping ingredients and sprinkle on top, pressing gently.
- Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until tester comes out clean. Serve warm right from the oven.
