Scottish Shortbread
Total preparation time: 10 minutes
Serves: 48Ingredients:
- 1 lb Butter (do not substitute)
- 3 1/2 cups Flour
- 1/2 cup Rice Flour
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Colored Sanding Sugar
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cream butter with sugar.
- Blend in flours. Knead for about 1 minute and press into 10 x 15 baking sheet. Sprinkle colored sugar over dough. (Regular white sugar can be used if you wish)
- Chill dough in refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
- Bake at 300 degrees for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and immediately cut into 48 pieces. Let cool before removing from pan.
