My husband and I and our best friends stayed at Hurlong on October 31, 2000 we gave out candy to the halloween children that night. We had a great time Lon and Julie were just moving in as the new Innkeeper owners. Hi Lon and Julie Pam and Mike Prell. My girlfriend Sue and I were dressed up one in pink dress and one in blue. We made lots of noise I'm sure!

The Herlong is a simply wonderful property that really gives you a glimpse of another Florida....the sleepy northern central part of the state that is sheltered from the tacky tourism of Orlando, etc. I have been bringing my family there annually throughout the 90s, and have never had anything less than a great stay. I couldn't more strongly recommend it.

Great for a romantic getaway or quiet r & r. I fell asleep reading in one of the oversized swings on the 2nd floor verandah. Book and antique shops were within walking distance. Proximity to Gainesville is very convenient, offering the best of both worlds (shopping, college football, etc). You'll leave here feeling rested and spoiled. Mayberry doesn't have anything on Sonny and the Herlong Mansion!

This home page does little justice to the true beauty of the Herlong Mansion. My husband and I spent the three most romantic days there since our honeymoon. I cannot seem to stop looking back at the memories we shared. Sonny (the innkeeper) was a wonderful host, as well as a chef. I would highly recommend this romantic getaway to all of my friends. Thank you to Sonny and his wonderful and friendly staff.

The Herlong Mansion is a grand old house with lots of history. The town, Micanopy, is quaint with shops full of collectibles. Nearby is an excellent restaurant, The Wildflower. This area of Florida is very pretty and is near Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings home at Cross Creek.

This is one of the most welcome places we've stayed at. The innkeepers make you feel like you're 'coming home'. Very relaxing where time almost stands still.
