General Information

The Allison House Inn was built in 1843 and converted to an award winning bed and breakfast in 1990 is located in Quincy, FL, 20 miles west of Tallahassee, FL. Access to this historic community is easy from Interstate 10 and US Highway 90 which goes directly through Quincy. Located in the center of a thirty-six square block historic district, the Inn is steeped in history. It was built by A.K. Allison, who in 1865, became Governor of the State of Florida and signed the peace treaty with the Union, thus ending Florida's role in the Civil War. Earlier, A.K. Allison distinguished himself in the Indian Wars. The Inn is within walking distance to the town square of Quincy, where there are numerous shops. The Inn is a gracious, Georgian double-parloured structure. All guestrooms have their own private baths, individual climate controls, remote controlled cable TV, and hair dryers. Mindful of an English country manor, the inn is filled with many antiques from the British Isles. The grounds and gardens of the Allison House Inn are lush with crepe myrtle, azaleas, camellias, bamboo, fig, pear, and pecan trees. The climate is very pleasant throughout the year. The area is noted for its art and antiques. Many notable artists live in the area, whose works now hang in premier galleries around the country. Numerous antique shops can be found nearby with wares from Europe, Asia, and Early America. Festivals and community celebrations abound throughout the year in the area. Your gracious hosts have a great deal of experience in the hospitality business. Stuart is a 30 year veteran of the hotel industry, managing notable luxury hotels; while Eileen has an extensive background in special events. Within the cancellation period, i.e. 30 days or 2 weeks, the full price of the booking will be charged unless we are able to re-book the accommodations.
